In today’s uncertain environment, Pharmacy has emerged as one of the most popular and secure career options. Many students from the science stream are unable to pursue careers in medicine or engineering due to low marks in competitive examinations or financial constraints. B.Pharma is a four-year undergraduate degree course. For admission, candidates must have passed 12th standard with Science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics) with a minimum of 50% marks. Reserved category students get some marks relaxation.

Admission to the B.Pharm program is offered through various entrance examinations such as CUET (for most central and private universities), NEET (primarily for MBBS, but some top universities also consider NEET scores for B.Pharm admission), and from several state-level entrance tests.

These include WBJEE (West Bengal), CUET-UG (Uttar Pradesh), BCECE (Bihar), KCET (Karnataka), MHT-CET (Maharashtra), and many other state-level examinations. Some universities and colleges also conduct their own entrance exams or offer admission based on merit.

The core subjects covered in the B.Pharm curriculum include : Pharmacology, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Human Anatomy, Pathophysiology, and Biostatistics.

After completing B.Pharm, students can explore a wide range of career opportunities. In the government sector, various job such as Drug Inspector, Pharmacist, and Scientific are available.

In the private sector, graduates can work in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Research and Development, and Pharmaceutical Companies. Students may also start their own pharmacy or pharmaceutical business.

For higher education, students can pursue M.Pharm or Pharm.D, and build careers in research, academics, and the education sector.
